Jewellery Designing
When you see a spectacular piece of jewellery
resting upon a graceful neck, immediately, you experience a desire to
touch, to admire. Human beings have always had more than a passing
interest in objects lumped under the enormous jewellery umbrella. Then of
course there's that familiar clich?d constantly doing the rounds in your
brain that only a jeweler?s son or daughter can make it in this
profession, and there's no scope for anybody else. That's where you are
quite wrong.
Jewellery designing, as a career, may have been once limited to the
traditional kaarigars (who mostly played the dual role of
designer-cum-manufacturer) but with the global upsurge, which brought in
its wake changing perceptions of what jewellery should mean to a woman;
came the demand for professionally trained and qualified jewellery
designers, at par with international standards. This is not to say that
the traditional craftsman does not stand today. Where the trained designer
scores over the kaarigar is that the former is aware of trends, and the
specifics of jewellery designing. And it's no longer only about carving
design on metal, because avenues like marketing and production, or even
tapping the vast export market the opportunities are endless and
constantly growing. Today jewellery design as a career is steadily
grabbing international attention. India has produced award-winning
jewellery and accessory designers

I think that’s a responsibility that I have, to push possibilities, to show people, this is the level that things could be at. So when you get something that has the name Kanye West on it, it’s supposed to be pushing the furthest possibilities. I will be the leader of a company that ends up being worth billions of dollars, because I got the answers. I understand culture. I am the nucleus.
