CBSE to conduct next teachers' test CTET 2015 on 20 September
In a notification, the CBSE has informed that the next Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be conducted on 20 September, 2015. This is the second test being held this year. The first CTET in 2015 was held on 22 February.
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted for those eligible for appointment as a school teacher for classes I to VIII. Applicants must note that qualifying in the CTET is just one of the eligibility criteria for appointment/ recruitment as a teacher.
Online applications will begin from 30 July, 2015.
CTET certificate
All the candidates who appear for the CTET are issued a marks statement. But only candidates who secure 60 percent marks or above will be issued an eligibility certificate.
The validity period for this CTET qualifying certificate for appointment to a
teaching position in a school will be seven years from the date of declaration
of the CTET result for all categories.
There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for
acquiring a CTET Certificate. You can attempt the CTET even after qualifying it,
if you want to improve your score.
A candidate can get a duplicate copy of his CTET marks statement or eligibility
certificate by paying the following fees by way of Demand Draft in favour of Secretary,
Central Board of Secondary Education> drawn on any nationalized bank and
payable at Delhi:
If you want the duplicate copy within 2 weeks:: Rs.200
If you want the duplicate copy within 2 working days:: Rs.400

Schedule of the exam on 20 Sep, 2015:
The schedule has changed slightly as compared to the previous CTET exams. Paper
II will be conducted first, followed by Paper I.

CTET Exam pattern & syllabus
The CTET will have multiple choice questions (MCQs), each question worth 1
mark. There won't be any negative marking on the CTET. The exam has two papers -
Paper I and Paper II.
a) Candidates who want to teach classes I to V should take Paper I (primary
stage).
b) Candidates who want to teach classes VI to VIII should take Paper II
(elementary stage).
c) Candidates who want to teach at both levels - for classes I to V and VI to
VIII should take both papers.
Paper I has 150 questions and would test candidates in five sections (30
questions in each section):
1. Child Development and Pedagogy
2. Language I
3. Language II
4. Mathematics
5. Environmental Studies
Paper II has 150 questions and would test candidates in four sections:
- Child Development and Pedagogy - 30 questions
- Language I - 30 questions
- Language II - 30 questions
- Mathematics and Science - 60 questions
or
Social Studies/Social Sciences - 60 questions
Candidates who want to apply as a Mathematics and Science teacher should opt
for Mathematics and Science section, candidates who want to apply as a Social
Studies/Social Sciences teacher should opt for the second section. Candidates
who want to apply for any other subject, can choose from either of the two
sections.
Candidates should also refer to the NCERT textbooks and syllabi of classes I - VIII.
