The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is designed as standardized test by Hercourt Assessment Inc. to measure the students abilities for further studies and to fix what one have learnt as part of Under Graduate studies. The Hercourt Assessment Inc. organizes MAT test through its Controlled Testing Centers (CTCs). The students can make application directly to CTC for taking the test, also different CTCs fix their own testing schedule and fees etc. However, the assessment of test takers is done by Hercourt Assessment Inc. only.

The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is taken by graduate applicants who wish to apply for graduate admissions in graduate schools

/ universities / institutions of United States. The graduate schools across Americas and its territories accepts MAT score of a candidate as standard whether he / she will be able to complete graduate course work.

The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) needs only 60 minutes of testing time and those who may reason good find analogies easy to answer and score. Perhaps, this is the only test in the United States that judges your abilities on the basis of what you have adopted from the previous learning. The test is held only once in a year. At present, the test is available in two different formats-

  1. Computer Based Test, and
  2. Paper - Pencil Based Test

Its completely your choice which test you will write, the score earned from either format will be honored by your graduate school.

Eligibility

The college students write MAT test for graduate admissions. The test takers can produce MAT Analogies score to graduate schools where score in tests like GRE or MAT is required for primary purpose of admission. Only MAT score is not enough for graduate studies; schools conduct their own written test, interview and essay writing test etc for final offer of admission.

The MAT test takers require solving MAT analogies from the following areas:

  • Language and Vocabulary
  • Humanities
  • Social Sciences
  • Natural Sciences
  • Mathematics


The total testing duration is 60 minutes without any short break.

MAT FEE

The approximate test fee for writing MAT test is  USD 74. However, actual fee amount may vary depending upon to which CTC you will apply. Apply and pay test fee directly to your CTC at which you will take the test.

However, to access additional services you have to pay additional fee in following format-

  • Domestic Alternative Testing Site Fee - $149.00
  • Foreign Alternative Testing Site Fee - $149.00 plus additional fee for a specific site
  • Replacement Retest Admission Ticket Fee - $25.00
  • Transcript Fee - $25.00 per transcript
  • Score Verification Fee - $35.00
  • Online Practice Test Fee - $23.99

Test Score


The MAT score of candidates may lie between 200 (minimum) to 800 (maximum). There is no negative score for incorrect answers and for questions not answered. The MAT score are declared in February. The cut-off for each school varies largely and decided on the basis of number of seats in a school and SHSAT Score of students.
