Among various resources required in the production process, human resource is one of the most important. Course Details
Human resource management (HRM) is taught as part of an MBA curriculum at all B-schools across India. Many colleges offer HR courses at graduation level as well. MBA is a two-year program pursued after graduation, or its equivalent degree. Admission into the MBA program is generally held on the basis of a written test, with group discussion and personal interview following subsequently. Separate entrance examinations tests are conducted by different institutes, such as CAT by IIMs, MAT by All India Management Association, and XAT by Xavier Institute. Besides, there are executive MBA (HR) programmes offered by some institutes which require a minimum level of experience.

Career Prospects
The main task of HR managers is the efficient use and development of available skills and talent of the employees within the organization. Thus, they are highly in demand in both public and private sector organizations. As such, they can seek employment in public and private sector industries, banking and financial institutions, corporate houses, and multinational companies. Personnel managers can aspire to be employed in the services sector, particularly IT companies who are dealing with a number of employees nowadays. Remuneration
As a general MBA graduate, a personnel manager can earn around Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month in the beginning in the private sector. However, in the public sector, the pay scale is comparatively lower than that of the private sector. The pay package increases depending upon the qualifications, ability, and experience of the person concerned. At senior level, an MBA graduate, with human resources as specialization, can expect anywhere between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 60,000 as monthly income. Besides, those who have taken up consultancy as a career, also receive handsome returns.�
