Introduction



�Aerospace
engineering is the field of science that� deals with
the development of new technology in the field of aviation,
space exploration and defense systems. It specializes in the
designing, construction, development, testing, operation and
maintenance of both commercial and military aircraft,
spacecrafts and their components as well as satellites and
missiles


 




Aerospace engineers develop new technologies for use in
aviation, defense systems, and space exploration, often
specializing in areas such as structural design, guidance,
navigation and control, instrumentation and communication,
or production methods.


 



�They often use computer-aided design (CAD) software,
robotics, and lasers and advanced electronic optics. They
also may specialize in a particular type of aerospace
product, such as commercial transports, military fighter
jets, helicopters, spacecraft, or missiles and rockets.
Aerospace engineers may be experts in aerodynamics,
thermodynamics, celestial mechanics, propulsion, acoustics,
or guidance and control systems.

Aerospace engineers can be employed with DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation),

Mechanical Engineering from IIT, you can do the Masters' in Aerospace Engineering and
Ph.D.abroad. There are greater job opportunities for aerospace engineers, with many
private companies entering the field of aircrafts and defence vehicles manufacturing.
